| The action
- Stance planing early, sailing faster both up and downwind, getting control
- Carve gybes from improving your turns to getting that elusive planing gybe.
- Tacking learning and improving this very useful and fundamental skill
- Freestyle introduction and improvement in lots of new and useful tricks
- Jumping experience your first airtime, try some forwards, learn to Vulcan or any other stunts you fancy
I will be coaching through use of simulators, on-water coaching and video coaching. Please feel free to give me feedback on how it is going for YOU at any time so I can give you the best opportunity to develop. A ripping co coach will assist on the loop clinic, thanks to Tony 'Tattsy' Ford for his great work in 2010.

Your ability
To get the best out of this clinic participants will need to be fully blasting in the harness and footstraps, waterstarting and be attempting carve gybes. If you are advanced then the sky is the limit I have had people learning a range of moves from 360s to loops, vulcans to spocks.
Accommodation
We will be staying at the very hospitable and friendly Hotel Lighthouse. There is a further option of staying in the more comfortable Lighthouse II with Air-con and TV, a short walk way. The package is half board with a generous breakfast and evening meal available. Wireless is now available in the taverna!
Windsurfing kit
It is a very high quality Pro Centre with very friendly and helpful staff, with JP boards that are powered along by Neil Pryde sails. When booking your board through Sportif I recommend the below boards or a suitable alternative.
- Intermediates and heavy intermediates JP Xcite ride 110 (lightweights) and 120 (medium weights) and Fun Ride 130/145 for the heavier riders
- Advanced intermediates JP Freestyle Wave 102 or X cite 100 (lightweights) or 110 (medium weights) or the 120 for heavier riders
- Lighter or more advanced people JP Freestyle waves 102 or the 93 / 85 for light or very light riders or the Freestyle 98 (medium weights) and 89 for the lighter riders
- Freestylers and loopers Freestyle 98 (medium weights) or the 107 for bigger riders
The sailing
Wind: 5 DAYS OUT 0F 7 AVERAGE OVER 7 YEARS, ALOT OF WEEKS AT 100% WIND! Choose from cross-off from the right with the very reliable Meltemi getting a local boost to give us flat water and chop, or, a short sail upwind, there is also a cross onshore beach giving us small waves to practice on or get into bump and jump/wavesailing. This place almost seems designed to help you improve whilst giving you an awesome range of conditions.
The social
The social will revolve around us meeting up for some pre-dinner drinks and then having dinner together in the restaurant, where we may peruse the days video action. There will be a mid-week option of an evening out to the beautiful town of Lindos, with its roof-top restaurants and stylish bars. It is all pretty relaxed and we have some great chat and share a good laugh at our daily stunts.
The travel
Wednesday morning flights from Gatwick lasting 3.5 hours followed by a coach transfer lasting just over an hour. If it’s like last year we can get a sail on the final morning giving us that magic 7 days possible water time.
Other activities
Should your aching limbs need any other action then there is Volleyball and some fantastic walks. Bookings can be made locally for any other excursions should you require.

"Perfection in Prasonisi"
A travel article covering the ‘jewel in the crown’ of all my coaching destinations. It gives you a feel for the place and was my first travel article I wrote for Boards mag. Subsequent trips here have given me a whole lot more opportunities to enjoy a huge array of conditions including some great wavesailing.
