Windsurfing Techniques
This clinic will get you jumping better, riding the right wave in the right way as your turns receive the full tune-up.
For the more adventurous, I will cover forward, backward loops and push-loops, advanced wave riding skills such as better bottom and top turns, smacking lips and aerials, and wave theory such as wave selection and positioning. This clinic will push your wavesailing to new levels.
Your Ability
You should be comfortable in high winds and waves. It helps to have a solid gybe and tack to get you out of tight spots on the inside or to catch the wave you want on a sometimes crowded peak.
Accommodation and Food
This clinic will be housed in shared rooms with half-board at Magic Fun. Breakfast and evening meal will be local style – good wholesome food such as tajines, cous cous or fish bbqs. There are a number of local café’s where you can find lunch for just a few pounds each day and the food at Magic Fun Africa from Bruno and his good lady is top class and they also run a tab system.
The Social
Moulay is a very laid back chilled out village. Typically we will drink a few beers in Magic Fun and watch the sunset and the last few waves of the day getting ridden.
Windsurfing Equipment
We will have the latest Duotone sails and Fanatic boards available. It’s a small centre and very well equipped for all sailors and windier weather (20 knots+) with a good selection of single and multi fin waveboards.
The Sailing
Moulay is a serious wavesailing destination and an amazing location for a wave clinic. This clinic is timed to have the best chance for strong winds and good swell. Expect big jumps and big waves, not helicopter tacks and gybing practice. 2010 was my inaugural clinic and this is now one of my fastest booking wave coaching weeks and the majority of people both pre book and confirm very early.
The Travel
Flights to Marrakech go from most major airports
Flights: Easy Jet, or Lufthansa or Air France into Marrakech.
Other Activities
Excellent SUPing / Surfing if there is no wind.
Visit Essaouria or some of the surrounding villages.
